No More Newsweek, At Least In Print

Oct 18, 2012

Newsweek announced today that as of the end of the year, they will no longer publish a print edition. Management says they plan to transition to an all-digital format in early 2013 called Newsweek Global that will be operated on a paid subscription model, thus insuring that the new Global edition won’t be around for very long but that at least the investors in the company might feel a little better in the meantime if given a reason to hope against hope. (This last clause, of course, being my take on the absurd notion that a “paid subscription model” for such an animal can exist.)

And so it goes as we continue to track the move from print to the networked screen.
